Natural Cosmetics : Makgeolli Essence
I made the recipes below shortly after I learned how to make natural cosmetics.
That was also the time when I learned how to make makgeolli, and I found out that makgeolli is good for the skin, so I tried these recipes because I thought making cosmetics using makgeolli would be good for skin.

[Ingredient]
Makgeolli liquor 20g. 1 g grapeseed oil.
Olive oil wax 1g.
1 g of hyaluronic acid. Moistin 1g. Collagen 3g.
Tea tree essential oil + lemongrass essential oil 1g.
[how to make]
1) Heat the water-soluble materials slightly.
2) Heat enough to melt the wax.
3) Mix all the heated materials in warm water.
4) When the whole mixture cools down to 40 degrees, add essential oil and mix them well.
[Result]
1) The product was thin, so it was closer to the skin than the essence.
When applied to the skin, makgeolli lees remain on the skin.
(Alternatives)
-> Use Cheongju(clean liquor) water.
-> Use the whole makgeolli after filtering it through a sieve or filter paper.
-> There is also a way to use makgeolli as a massage pack or peeling gel rather than an essence or cream.
2) The makgeolli extract had a high alcohol content, so there was a tingling sensation on the skin.
(Alternatives)
-> Mix with purified water or floral water to lower the alcohol content.

[Ingredient]
Makgeolli 60g, Aloe Vera Gel 5g, Moistin 3g, Collagen 6g, Glycerin 3g
Evening primrose oil 6g, castor oil 6g, olivem 1000 2g, oliwax LC 1g
Ceramide 3g, Vitamin E 1g
14 drops of Bergamot EO, 6 drops of Tea Tree EO
[Result]
-> Essence, but close to skin
->The smell of makgeolli was strong.
->The EO was relatively low, so the scent was weak.
-> Less emulsifier than the previously made Cheongju Essence, and castor oil was used instead of jojoba oil.
(Jojoba is less rancid and can reproduce the most skin-like feel, but it is too expensive.)
->With makgeolli as the main ingredient, it felt like an essence faithful to the efficacy of makgeolli.
The following is the conclusion I reached after using Makgeolli Essence for several months.
-> It had an oily feeling when applied, and absorption into the skin was slow.
-> Shortly after the absorption was less, it sit on the surface of the face like a sticky keratin.
-> Probably because oil and water were less emulsifying with each other. The amount of emulsifier was relatively small and there were too many aqueous phases. It felt closer to the skin than the essence, but it was too oily for a skin, so it did not penetrate well into the skin.
[How to fix]
-> Add enough emulsifier to the essence to balance the amount of watery and oily ingredients.
-> The skin is mainly for the water layer, so make it with white color.
This record is entirely based on my personal experience. I clearly state that I am not responsible for and cannot be held responsible for any skin side effects or unexpected results that may occur if this recipe is followed.
